lazy cat
lazy cat on the dressing table
stretching luxuriously
one earring and a photo on the floor

Shakyamuni
We wait
We chant
We rest in silence
We don't look at each other
We don't speak
We simply feel the joy
It sparkles in the air we breathe
It brings our hearts and minds together
It weaves the Dharma into the very core of us
We smile
We chant
We rest in silence
We don't look at each other
We don't speak
We simply feel the joy
It sparkles in the air we breathe
It brings our hearts and minds together
It weaves the Dharma into the very core of us
We smile

catdharma
Cat in the sun
Basking, stretching, yawning, rolling.
Neither thinking of the past
Nor of the future,
Neither hoping for the best
Nor fearing the worst,
Neither wanting nor lacking.
Aware only of this joyous moment
And living within it completely.
Cat in the sun
Teaching the Dharma.
Basking, stretching, yawning, rolling.
Neither thinking of the past
Nor of the future,
Neither hoping for the best
Nor fearing the worst,
Neither wanting nor lacking.
Aware only of this joyous moment
And living within it completely.
Cat in the sun
Teaching the Dharma.
rabbit interrupted
week has passed.
My palm still cups the memory
Of his downy egg shaped head.
The carrots remain uneaten.
My palm still cups the memory
Of his downy egg shaped head.
The carrots remain uneaten.

monday morning
Two women on a balcony,
gaunt and grimfaced
blanketed in dark plaid
flick ash on to the heads of passers by below.

at the green grocers
a basket of mushrooms
their speckled boles with the world still clinging
their concertinaed flesh all moist and creamy
breathe the lush and earthy living essence
of dark and occult places

lamplit
writing by lamplight's
soft womanly glow,
shadows arc to secret corners
where white chrysanthemums whisper
and a skyblue paper fan unfolds,
above a single silken peony,
its carmine petals reflected
in the baroque and gilded mirror.
a distant shutter opens
to the beckoning clamour of sunday bells
and the wheeling gulls are laughing,
suspended between sky and sea.
coffee in a pearly seagreen mug,
cats, like lovers, between my legs,
words drift across the page like clouds,
an inky memory,
a breathy silence,
a ticking clock.

ghost cat
The rabbit stills
flat eared, fastbreathing, eye of stone,
the sound of one leaf falling,
to earth, to death, to rebirth,
fluttering down the trembling silence,
no birdsong
no shadow
the Ghost Cat cometh.

fukinsei/asymmetry
As turgid silence festers
A door closes
